Avenue Road Rental Property

About This Project

A tired 1950s apartment building became a renter’s dream despite a tight budget and a long list of woes, from outdated plumbing and wiring to severely worn floors, outdated fireplaces and old windows. In each unit, the layouts were opened up to bring in plenty of light and air, and attractive modern-day materials installed that add beauty without excess cost, including factory-finished hardwood flooring, glass tiles and porcelain counters with the look of stone composite, but far more durable. The most exciting change was to the top-floor unit, formerly an attic: through the addition of large dormers, skylights and a full-height kitchen, it became a sun-filled, open-plan loft.
